NewTestament Foundations ('Talking Faith' Module)

The New Testament Foundations (5-day or 2-weekend) course is useful for discipleship development and is also used for Lay Preacher training. Facilitators work in teams to deliver the program.

The ONE-DAY Train-the-trainer course prepares Facilitators who will be supported to coordinate the program in their own Presbytery.

What we cover:

  • the outline and overview of content of the course;
  • the development of learning communities;
  • adult-learners: strategies for encouraging engagement;
  • administration and organisation of the course;
  • introduction to the materials;
  • how this has worked in other places - goals and pitfalls!

Thursday April 29th, 9.30am - 4.30pm.

222 Pitt street, Level 8, SYDNEY (Closest Railway is Town Hall Station)

Some Pre-reading is required.

Please register by March 26th to allow time to familiarise yourself with the materials.

Pre-requisite: Participants in the Train-the-Trainer Course are expected to already be Ministers in placement or Lay people with some (recent) Tertiary-level education in Preaching/Worship/Biblical/Theological studies. You are expected to be able to organise and teach on behalf of your Presbytery in an ELM Course as part of your regular Placement.

Costs:

NSW-ACT Participants: We will provide simple refreshments and all materials. If you agree to help us deliver a course in 2010-2011, we will also assist with (air, rail or road) transport costs. (Note: We would prefer to do the bookings and arrange to get people to the airport at about the same time). Some (limited) accomodation may be available on a first come, first serve basis.

Inter-Synod Participants: We ask for a small contribution towards refreshments and materials of $100 per facilitator. Some (limited) accomodation may be available. Note: it is quite easy to get from the airport to Pitt St... just take the train from Mascot to Town Hall!
