The Synod of NSW-ACT Lay Preachers Association

In 2008, Accredited Lay Preachers, occasional preachers (non-accredited) and Student-Candidates met at the NSW-ACT Synod meeting and voted to establish a Synod-based Lay Preachers’ Association. A Steering Committee was set up, with a view to formally inaugurating the new Association at the April 2010 Synod meeting. The Association will be a voluntary body offering mutual encouragement and support to Lay Preachers across the State and Territory. ELM will provide staff support to the Association as part of its commitment to support and enable Lay Ministries.

NSW-ACT Lay Preachers are also represented on the National Lay Preachers’ Committee.
