This is an annual conference designed to provide on–going education and formation for people in ministry. It is an expected commitment for Lay Pastors. It provides a proportion of the mandatory annual formation for Pastors, and is useful continuing education for Ministers, Children and Family Workers, Youth Workers, Lay Preachers and other Lay Ministry Workers.
In 2011, we are developing this program in partnership with the Synod Youth Unit, Children's and Family Ministry Consultant and United Theological College, so there will be an opportunity for some cross-over of program.

The In-service will also be an excellent opportunity for Lay Preachers, lay leaders, and those who preach and lead worship to:

- deepen their understandings of the gospel;
- develop ‘preaching’ styles that are engaging, contextual and relevant for the church in the 21st century;
- make use of multiple media (not just electronic media) to enhance leadership and the worship experience;
- build the capacity of lay leadership in every Presbytery;
- establish networks for support and encouragement, that help people review, evaluate and modify preaching and worship leadership in the light of developments in theology, missiology and social change.
Be part of equipping lay people for God’s work in the world!!
Please note that Lay Pastors are subsidised by the Synod. Other groups are sometimes subsidised by their Agencies, Presbyteries and Congregations.
